Federico Ramos is a studio guitarist and live performer based in Los Angeles. Although Federico began his music studies in Montevideo, Uruguay, he traces his ancestral and musical roots to the Southern Coast of Spain where he was involved with flamenco music. He studied guitar formally at the Real Conservatory of Madrid, Jazz Arranging at Berklee College of Music in Boston, the Guitar Institute of Technology in Los Angeles (MI), and California Institutes of the Arts (CalArts). He further trained with Jazz guitarists Joe Pass, Pat Martino, Joe Diorio, and Ron Eschete and studied orchestration with Brazilian Maestro Moacir Santos. Federico is a regular guest at Guitar Night with John Pisano in Los Angeles. Some notable performances and collaborations in the US and overseas include Eternal Wind (co-founder), Jon Anderson (Yes), Jackson Browne, Lionel Ritchie, Jon Hassel, Mark Isham, Charlie Haden, Dionne Warwick, Scarlet Rivera, Cecil McBee, Billy Childs, Freddie Hubbard, James Newton, Terry Plumeri, Ray Brown Jr., and over a decade of recording and touring with Dr. Yusef Lateef. Latin artists Joan Sebastian, Camilo Sesto, Jenni Rivera, Vicente Fernández, Alejandro Fernández and Marco Antonio Solís. As a session player, Federico has also worked with renowned film score composers including Hans Zimmer, Danny Elfman, James Horner and John Powell. Federico is also a devoted music educator.
